Graphics - Photoshop Essential Standard - 203.01 & 203.02

Essential Question: How do you alter a photograph using editing techniques?

Objective: Utilize graphic design to transform an image

Assignment:You have been hired as a graphic designer by "U", a teen magazine in Durham. They want you to touch up photographs that are taken by their photographers as well as old archive photos. You are to follow the directions given by the project manager for the target audience to complete the project. Once complete then you should review the checklist for grading criteria before turning in your work.

The magazine needs 4 different final images. The first picture needed is of a young woman with wild hair. You ned to remove the white background behind her and place her on a picture of a sunset. The second image the magazine needs is a cropped image of a model. The image will need work done to improve the overall look. Also the model had a lip ring and an eyebrow stud that will need to be removed. Follow the tutorial to get everything they need completed. Third another photo of a model needs to be adjusted. The colors of the image are off and you will need to correct the picture. Finally there is a need for a composited image. Download the Photo Manipulation Example so you can see what is expected of you. Using the skills from the tutorials you performed you need to create a composited image from a minimum of four pictures. Your composite image can be about anything you want but all images must look real. It must be 1080 X 720 with a resolution of 300 dpi.

Save the images as lastname+firstinitial+photoedit1 (photoedit2, etc.). Save as a PSD and JPEG. Submit both file types on the network drive.
