Essential Question: How can you create a professional logo that is resolution independent?

Objective: Learn the tools of IllustratorAssignment:You have been hired as a graphic designer by Big Time Logo, Inc. They want you to replicate 3 logos as they are for the business. You are to follow the directions given by the project manager for the target audience to complete the project. Once complete then you should review the checklist for grading criteria before turning in your work. Complete the 3 tutorials at the bottom- Canadian Flag, Houston Texans, and BP. These recreation projects will teach you how to use the basics of Illustrator and prepare you for your logo design project. I have given you the item to trace for each logo recreation. Save them to your Google Drive folder and open them in Illustrator to begin the project. Save your completed graphic as an AI (Illustrator file) and then export as a JPEG file. Label it as last name + first initial + flag (ex. ayersbflag.jpg), last name + first initial + texans (ex. ayersbtexans.jpg), and last name + first initial + bp (ex. ayersbbp.jpg) and save in your graphics folder. Submit only the JPEG file to the Google drive.

Grading Criteria Checklist

1. Used pen tool to recreate the images

2. Used fill on tool bar to fill in areas of color

3. Curved areas are smooth edges

4. Added a drop shadow where instructed

5. Added a gradient fill where instructed

6. Added rounded caps where instructed

7. Changed transparency where instructed

8. Recreated 3 logos - flag, texans, water year

9. Graphic file is saved as a AI file and exported as a JPEG format as instructed

10. Final graphic file is submitted as a JPEG format with the instructed name

for the project
